Moments passed and landscape change. What remains is memories. 🥹
This is our effort to create a collective memory of Geylang Serai and with all your support we have created a unique repository of images online of this special place with the hashtag #instageylang on Instagram. The images is very truthful and genuine, coming from the community itself. Today, we are happy to extend this reach even further with a book for posterity.
Every person’s memory is different but collectively it is a reflection of our spirit and aspiration as a community.
I humbly take this opportunity to sneak in my memory of Geylang Serai from 32 years ago. It is not as polished in photographic quality as what is on display today at the InstaGeylang photo exhibition but I’m sure someone will thank me for releasing my shutters that day a long time ago. Same as what you all have done and posted your images with the InstaGeylang hashtag.
I shall not make a long speech as I have written it in a book for all to read. 🤩
