Twenty sec one students from Bedok Town Secondary School attended a 4 week batik painting workshop. The objective of this workshop are for the students to produce a batik painting which will be given away as a souvenir as part of Singapore hosting the Youth Olympic Games 2010. Schools in Singapore will be paired with a country and Bedok Town Secondary School will play host to Botswana. The batik painting is designed by the students. It symbolizes the orchid flower which is the national flower of Singapore accompanied with african inspired patterns, to represent friendship within the two countries.
