Mid-Autumn Lantern festival Caricature and NCN membership

This is a lesson in humility. We set-up a caricature booth at the void deck of blk 765 Bedok Reservoir View. We were invited by the nice people of Longvale Residents Committee for their Mid-autumn lantern festival celebration. Setting up a caricature booth at a HDB void deck in the heartlands and charging for our services seems unpromising at first, but we kept our spirits high and as the evening progressed we were swarmed with customers and as usual we were drawing frantically.
The whole time, I was trying out different techniques to improve my speed in preparation for the upcoming trip to Reno, USA for my first National Caricature Network (NCN) convention. I was informed only a few days ago of my acceptance as a professional member of this international organisation for caricaturist. Eversince, I kept thinking of how good the other members are (most of them legends in this trade). I am nothing in comparission and that is scarry. Then again, I suppose its okay to be humbled from time to time as it provides a new challenge to improve oneself.
Children loves the lantern festival as its an excuse to play with fire. They had more fun burning their lantern than lighting it up.
Post note: We established a website specifically for our caricature drawing services in January 2008 at: WWW.CARTOON.SG. More caricatures for viewing, please click here.
