Art therapy at a home for special needs. The residents are always looking forward to Tuesday morning sessions with us. Art and craft activities especially batik painting and tie&dye. They get to display it beautifying their surroundings.
We were successful in our bid for two penthouse studio units at this exciting cultural hub of the Singapore Malay community. It is very accessible with lots of eateries around. A short mini-batik session is a great introduction to the traditional art of batik-painting when time is of the essence. We have pre-waxed batik on box board for colouring with dye. Can be completed within an hour.
A short workshop at a local polytechnic to introduce students to batik and indigo dyeing. Indigo has a global presence & is celebrated in many cultures.
Saturday morning at doing community batik at a local primary school. Mrs Kamal helped out the student volunteers and art-Club members who were pre-trained to use the tjanting.
