These students are history major and the workshop started out with a discourse on historical events that shape the evolution in batik design and South East Asian culture. It is more than just and art class. They got to try out the Tjanting and painted lovely batiks to bring home.

We were visited by a class of kindergarteners who were making their way round Goodman Arts Centre as part of their school trip. The children were introduced to our daily practices which include traditional batik painting and graffiti.
Organised a community batik workshop for the staff from Syniverse Technologies. The community batik workshop conducted at our studio in Goodman Arts Centre was part of their team-building activity. The staff were introduced to the history and culture of batik painting before starting to paint the community batik.
