Students Exchange programme
Hwa Chong Institution had a student exchange programme for the Hwa Chong Asia Pacific Leaders Summit. Everyone had not done batik painting before and was eager to learn how to do the hot waxing using the tjanting. It was not easy for them, but most of them enjoyed and execute it quite well!
Mini-Batik Painting workshop at Boon Lay Primary School
Held a mini-batik painting workshop at Boon Lay Primary School for both students and their parents. The participants were each given a pre-waxed mini batik design to complete using our traditional batik dyes. The designs were already pre-waxed onto the cloth thus no hot-waxing is required by the students.

Batik Painting workshop at St. Luke's Elder Care
Over the course of a few weeks we have conducted a mini-batik painting workshop for the elderly at St Luke's Elder Care. The elderly participants each produced their own batik painting, using hot wax to draw their designs onto the cloth and colourful batik dyes to complete them.

Held a one day mini-batik painting workshop for the students of St Stephen's School. Our mini batik workshops do not require any hot waxing and is suitable for large groups of younger students (aged below 9 years)

We conducted a batik painting workshop for One World International School, held over 4 lessons in a course of 4 weeks. The students were exposed to traditional batik painting methods, like hot waxing and using batik dyes. They were also taught a brief history on the culture of batik painting.
